| I experienced Gary’s gift for
teaching during my 15 month Pilates training program at the Austin Pilates
Center, 1999-2001. An aspect of his philosophy and foundation, coming from a
founded passion for Joseph Pilates’ Contrology, brought to life the concept
of wellness in body, mind, and spirit. This was so profound for me and
taught me the challenges and the appreciation for Pilates as a way to see
changes in your body in a more comprehensive way, all being directly related
and inspired by the other. Gary teaches you with a sensitivity that lends
itself to patience and understanding which are both empowering and inspiring
to the open and curious mind. In a learning environment, this helps you to
be productive and ambitious and feeds the energy. Gary has a gift in his
depth of knowledge and very sharp sense of intuition which were always
present about where your body and mind needed to go to learn. I have carried
with all my teaching experiences a true gratefulness to Gary for all that he
has given to me. Tracy Cunningham Pilates Program Director The Hills Fitness Center |
I was referred to Gary Calderone
for Pilates by a neurosurgeon because of low back problems. I worked with
Gary over several weeks and was impressed with his knowledge and ability to
communicate with me, including his ability to communicate
sometimes-challenging concepts. I have been involved with Yoga for over a
year and Gary was great at relating what he was teaching me in Pilates to my
Yoga experience. He was also very good at explaining to me what was going on
within my body currently and what needed to change in order to have less
pain and Pilates’ role in helping. Gary was extremely empathetic and very
caring. I recommend Pilates to anyone suffering from chronic back pain as an
option for improved health and well being. I also recommend Gary as an
expert in both his knowledge and his ability to guide and instruct. Pam Jenness Manager/Corporate Trainer |
